It is a form of counselling where a small group of people meet regularly to discuss, interact and explore problems with each other and group leader. Group counselling seeks to give clients a safe and comfortable place on campus/clinic , where they can work out problems and emotional concerns. Groups offer a confidential, safe space for students to gain self awareness and awareness of others. The experience often reduces loneliness, normalizes your experiences, promotes change in quick and meaningful ways, and helps you to learn and process new skills. It helps clients who feel alone and isolated which can in turn result in depression and worsening behavioral issues.
